Taking Care of Skiing Feet
At this time of year, we chiropodists get to see quite a few people suffering from après-ski feet!
Even if you’re more about walking the dog than tackling a black run, the footcare tips below are also great for all slippy-slidey winter activities like walking, welly-wearing, and going from cold conditions to overheated indoors.
No Need for an Uphill Struggle
To ensure comfort, prevent injuries, and promote overall foot health:
Don’t Let Regular Foot Hygiene Slide Downhill
Routine footcare and consideration will take you a long way, whether on the flat or taking the plunge:
Whether you’re heading for the slopes or strolling to the pub, keep an eye on future blogs and Carnforth Chiropodist Facebook page, [link], and wave farewell to beaten-up winter feet!
What’s Important?
When something like this happens, it puts into perspective what’s important in life. As a solo parent, I work three days a week so I can give 100% my best to both my patients and my boys. It’s also why I’m not doing home visits at the moment, allowing me more time in clinic. It took a bit for me to embrace technology, but my automated booking system prevents interrupted clinic time, and makes it simple for you to secure a slot.
Take Care of You
Chiropody isn’t just about feet; chatting during appointments can cover a wealth of issues (and giggles!). I know many people are juggling so much at the moment, so don’t lose sight of what’s important: your physical and mental health, your family, and those you hold dear- there’s no point in endlessly running to stand still. After our unintentional moment of fame, thank you to everyone who sent texts, emails and messages asking after Rubie- she’s happily snoozing on my lap as I type. Just as people are so kind to others, take a moment to be kind to yourself, too, and take care,
Carol.
Prioritising What Matters
How apt that a very dramatic event for me and my family fell during April which was “stress awareness month”!...
Don’t Make Feet a Marathon
The London Marathon is coming up fast; if any readers are topping up your training, good luck...
Checking Out Cheeky Chilblains
They’re one of the most common winter foot irritants, but that’s no reason to put up with chilblains.
