Autumn Moving In…

As autumn moves in, our plants and trees might be winding down, but we don’t allow ourselves to pause in our busy schedules. You don’t have to be diagnosed with Seasonal Affective Disorder to feel the effect of dwindling sun and temperature; I really believe in keeping active and having nice things on the calendar to boost mood and energy levels (vitamin D supplements are heroes, too!)

Time for Some Adventure

While the major construction for the new clinic room was at its height, I gathered all the courage I could for some adventure time and – yes, I had a real adventure- trekking in Kenya. It was incredible. It was so cold and along with the altitude made it exhausting and at points I was pretty tearful, but we did it and climbed the highest Via Ferrata in the world – Mount Kenya – at 4985m above sea level.

More Local Adventures

I also love discovering what’s on our doorstep and doing the cross bay walk in August brought incredible views and inspiring companions, whilst raising money for charity, too.

So huge thanks to everyone’s patience, I’m back (after two breaks which were quite close together)and reenergised in my temporary clinic at Nether Kellet Congregational Church Hall (Mon – Wed) [link to map]. Everything’s still sixes and sevens at home, but it’s slowly falling into place. Watch this space and my Facebook page for more details and for the countdown to the grand opening of our smashing new clinic room at Carnforth Chiropodist Central!

Although my boys have grown and are both now working in apprenticeships, with school and swimming lessons back in full swing, I am seeing a huge increase in children and teenagers coming to me with verrucas.

So as a parent and chiropodist, here’s some great tips for

A little thought, a lot more fun

Enjoy raising a glass, but alcohol is actually dehydrating, so make sure you alternate with soft drinks or water (a clearer head can also make the night- and next morning- more fun!) Treat your feet to a gentle warm soak when home, and dry well, it’s amazing how refreshing it feels, too.

Looking back over a year of blogs, from top tips and travel to moving the clinic and renovations, I wonder how I’ve fitted it all in! I’ve loved sharing all my news with you, but with a busy New Year ahead, I’m scaling down these regular blogs for a few months to focus on seeing my lovely clients.

You can get in touch for appointments and queries anytime by calling 07725 300290. You can leave a message and myself or Sue will call you back to secure you an appointment. Also keep an eye on my Facebook, where I’ll still be posting my regular updates, tips and news (like the imminent return to super-smart Carnforth Chiropodist Central!). Remember, you can always leave me a private message on my Facebook.

Have a wonderful festive season and start to 2025; I’ll be busy collecting spring feet updates to share!

All the best, Carol x
