All Change- for the Better!
I love running my clinic from my specially purposed home conservatory (28 Langdale Road, Carnforth). Lovely and light, with a separate entrance and accessible ramp, it enables me to provide a caring and professional service which clients find very comfortable and welcoming, as well as maintain a valuable work/life balance.
Slipping Into Summer
Because it’s worked so well, the builders are currently in making it an even better, dedicated, separate clinic space with a permanent roof to keep the heat in (and out!). So for a few weeks all appointments (Mon-Wed) will be held at Nether Kellet Congregational Church Hall, Main Road, Nether Kellet, LA6 1EP. Just 5 minutes’ drive from Carnforth, I chose it for its easy access and parking; a map is on my booking page [link]. I look forward to seeing you there- as we countdown to our smashing new clinic room!
Do Your Feet Deserve a Holiday?
Holiday or staycation, summer is a great time to give your feet some love- and if you’re showing them off in sandals, flip flops, or wriggling bare toes into warm sand, you want twinkletoes to be proud of. Holidays contain a surprising amount of trip hazards for your feet, from unsuitable footwear to spider bites. Hot, sunny weather causes feet to swell, sunburn, sweat and dry out- then add in salty water and stinging sand- so it’s important to stick to good foot hygiene and care routines.
Avoiding Type 2 Diabetes
Prevention is always better than cure- especially as diabetes can only be managed, not cured. Type 1 diabetes, an autoimmune condition, currently can’t be prevented, but adopting simple healthy lifestyle changes can reduce the risk of type 2 diabetes by up to 50%. Eating more healthily, losing weight if needed, and being active supports your body effectively managing blood sugar levels, preventinginsulin resistance, which can lead to type 2 diabetes. There’s lots of information, help and support available at reputable sites like www.diabetes.org.uk and www.nhs.uk/conditions/diabetes/.
Finally, due to a delay from the utilities companies we won’t be practising from Carnforth Central just yet. So, for the foreseeable, call me on 07725 300290 to make an appointment which will take place at Nether Kellet.
Thanks
All best, Carol x
How to avoid the pitfalls- and footfalls- of diabetes
This month sees World Diabetes Day (14th). I appreciate not quite as exciting as World George Clooney Day...
